This past weekend, Dirty Secret had the opportunity to bring Bad Gas Parkour, our custom Fortnite experience built for Earthshot, to the floor of San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
We knew Comic-Con would be full of passionate gamers, but we didn't know how people would respond to a game centered around an environmental challenge. What we discovered was exactly why we believe interactive experiences are such a powerful medium.
Over the course of the weekend, thousands of attendees stopped by our booth. Kids, teenagers, parents, longtime gamers, and first-time Fortnite players all jumped in to take on the challenge. Before long, something fun started happening.
Players weren't just finishing a run and moving on. They were bringing back their friends, siblings, parents, and complete strangers to see who could post the highest score. Our leaderboard quickly became a conversation starter, turning a simple parkour challenge into friendly competition that kept people coming back throughout the convention.
By the end of the show, that excitement had translated into more than 4,000 Fortnite impressions, introducing thousands of players to Bad Gas Parkour and, more importantly, to Earthshot's mission of raising awareness about methane emissions from abandoned oil and gas wells.
For us, that's the real takeaway.
Games have an incredible ability to engage people in ways that traditional media often can't. They create moments of curiosity, competition, and conversation. Players came for the challenge, but many also left talking about the real-world issue that inspired it.
We're incredibly grateful to everyone who visited our booth, played the island, shared feedback, and helped make the weekend such a success. We'd also like to thank the entire Earthshot team for trusting Dirty Secret to help bring their mission to life through Fortnite.
Comic-Con reminded us why we love building interactive experiences. When gameplay and purpose come together, they have the potential to reach audiences in meaningful and memorable ways.
Bad Gas Parkour remains live in Fortnite for anyone who wants to play.
